A substantial square-bodied Chinese incense burner cast in brass, standing 23.5 cm tall and weighing 1.49 kg. The vessel follows the archaic fangding form with four splayed legs, a stepped rectangular body, and two large wing-shaped handles rising from the sides, all engraved with prunus blossom and vine motifs. The central panel bears an incised archaic seal script inscription. A removable pyramidal lid is surmounted by a cast foo dog (shishi) finial with an open mouth and upturned tail. The piece exhibits age-related patina and wear throughout, with one handle loosened from use.
