A substantial Chinese copper cauldron with a fitted flat-topped lid, dating to the 18th or 19th century. The bulbous body stands 21 cm tall with a 18.9 cm opening and rests on a flat base of nearly equal diameter. The exterior retains a green-grey tin wash with extensive verdigris patina, while the interior reveals the original copper surface with scattered green oxidation and visible solder repairs. Two swing bail handles are mounted on either side via riveted iron brackets with ring loops, showing darkened age patina. The lid fits snugly within a stepped rim and is secured with small rivets around its circumference; the piece weighs 1.565 kg.
